Celtic Crusaders coach John Dixon last night said that they would be very keen to get Shane Williams to play for the league side - that is if they could afford him and find him available. The Australian coach said that Williams would have qualities that would suit the game of league. The only question mark in Williams playing the game would be his defence but he seems to have improved this area of his game in the past couple of seasons.

The move would seem very unlikely though as the Crusaders would struggle to meet the wage demands of the union players. There will need to be an improvement of the playing to squad to reach the standards required to play in the Super league but if the example of the Catalan Dragons can be used you can see it can be done. The French outfit did not win a game in their first season but are now third in the league.

Former Welsh union star who has returned to the game of league with Bradford Bulls looks in line to take up a role coaching with the Bridgend based franchise.
