Sevenoaks U14 started the Plate Final strongly with an early score after good movement of the ball wide allowed Henry Croft to outrun the cover defence. Tommy Fuller converted for a 7 – 0 lead but Bromley soon had the chance to reduce the deficit with a penalty kick which drifted wide. For the remainder of the half, the Oaks consolidated their lead through tries from William Grist and a second from Croft both converted by Fuller for a 21 – 0 half-time lead.
Sevenoaks continued to dominate territory in the second half with Charlie Virgo held up inches from the line as the Oaks pressed to extend their lead. As conditions became damper and drizzlier, many kicks from hand failed to find touch providing the Oaks with counter-attacking chances. Many of these came up short before Croft completed his hat trick with a score from short range to secure the Plate for Sevenoaks with a convincing 26 – 0 win.
